ECURE is an industrial contract between AIRBUS OPERATIONS S. L. and IMDEA Materials Institute to explore the potential of a new kind of non-circular continuous carbon fibers for composites, whose advantage over circular ones are their better longitudinal and radial mechanical properties to improve the intra-laminar and inter-laminar behavior of the composite structure and, thus, weight reduction is expected.
